Privacy Policy

Copper Beacon ("we," "us," or "our") is a local marketing agency based in Iowa. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit copperbeacon.com, how we use it, and what rights you have. We've tried to write this in plain English, not legalese.

What we collect

Contact form submissions. When you fill out the contact form on our site, we collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide (business name, website, industry, message). This information is processed by Netlify and stored securely.

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our site. This includes information like which pages you visit, how long you spend, what device you're using, and your approximate geographic location (city/region level). This data is anonymized and aggregated — we can't identify individual visitors from it.

Automatically collected technical data. Like most websites, our server and third-party services automatically collect standard technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, and referring URL. This is used for security and analytics purposes.

How we use it

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.

• Netlify — hosts our website and processes contact form submissions

• Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps for UX improvement (Microsoft Privacy Statement)
• Google Workspace — email communications (Gmail, Google Calendar)

Cookies

Our site uses cookies for analytics purposes (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). These are small text files stored on your device that help us understand how people use the site.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies in settings. We also respect the Do Not Track browser signal.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain a record of our client communications. Analytics data is retained per the default retention settings of Google Analytics (up to 14 months) and Microsoft Clarity (up to 13 months). You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request a copy of that information
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of analytics tracking (see cookies section above)

Children's privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, contact us and we'll delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page.
